I sit on the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Fashion Council. The Council’s main mission is to provide scholarship funding to selected graduating artists, chosen for their drive and vision, in order that they can have the opportunity to bring their art to commercialization. I am particularly interested in supporting these grads given my experience as a new product development brand manager for SC Johnson - I know how difficult it can be to launch a product/business when funding IS available, and it is near impossible when funding is absent. The funding provided by the Council changes the trajectory of the recipients lives and brings more art into the world.
